Thematic Areas

Climate Change and Environment
The impacts of climate change are evident in almost all sectors in Tanzania. Extreme climate and weather driven events such as droughts, strong winds, prolonged dry periods, erratic rainfall, changed rainfall seasons, flooding and duration has accelerated water scarcity, food insecurity, desertification and ecosystem shifts in almost all regions of the country. THSS in collaboration with Government, implementing partners, donors and stakeholders collaborates in greening efforts by planting trees in semi-desert areas, environmental cleaning, awareness creation in Horticulture activities and husbandry activities in a very environmentally friendly manner and community beneficial.
Childhood Development
Child development is the child growth, change and stability that occur from conception through adolescent. Parents are among the most important people in the lives of young children. Parents include mothers, fathers, as well as other caregivers who act as parents. From birth, children rely on parents to provide them with the care they need to be happy, healthy, grow and develop well. But parents sometimes lack information and the support they need for good parenting. THSS is committed with child growth and upbringing education and promotion of child rights to the community.Â

Community Health Interventions
Achieving an end to the HIV epidemic requires widespread public support and access to vital information. THSS aligns with UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets, aiming for widespread HIV testing, treatment, and viral load suppression. Tanzania faces a significant TB burden, with gaps in case detection. THSS supports efforts to improve TB education and healthcare worker training. In WASH, inadequate sanitation and water access contribute to preventable diseases. THSS provides services and education to reduce disease incidence. Mental health is crucial for overall well-being, with THSS collaborating to address community mental health issues.
